Superlambanana is a bright yellow sculpture located in Liverpool, England. Weighing almost 8 long tons (8.1 tonnes) and standing at 17 feet (5.2 metres) tall, it is intended to be a cross between a banana and a lamb and was designed by Manhattan-based Japanese artist Taro Chiezo. It currently stands in Tithebarn Street, outside the Liverpool John Moores University Avril Robarts Library/Learning Resource Centre, having previously been located on Wapping near the Albert Dock.

The Lambanana is another Liverpool landmark and symbol of the city. Designed by Japanese artist Taro Chiezo and created by four local artists, the Lambanana was developed for the 1998 ArtTransPennine Exhibition. The sculpture is a comment on the dangers of genetic engineering and also heavily influenced Liverpool’s history: historically both sheep and bananas were common cargos in the city's docks. Shown above is the orginal, standing at 5.8 metres tall. But all over the city you’ll spot the 2-metre Superlambananas. They were created to celebrate the city’s 2008 Capital of Culture win and are painted in various ways to match their local environments. How many can you find?
