Really awesome views of the city from the parking lot. There is a trail that goes further up and I think it's about 5 miles round trip, but the last part is difficult.

The trailhead here is within Anchorage city limits! A three-hour round trip culminates in panoramic views of Anchorage and the surrounding mountain ranges. On a clear day, you'll see no less than four—including Denali!

Flattop is a very popular place for hiking (most climbed mountain in the state of Alaska). Located on the south side of town, it's a relatively easy and short hike up to the top, where you can have some pretty incredible views.
