Mount Coolum National Park
A lovely climb first thing in the morning to catch the sun rising and panoramic views over the coast. Take water, a hat and good walking shoes.
Mount Coolum is an awe-inspiring volcanic dome that presides over the Sunshine Coast landscape. Climbing to the top of this 25 million year old laccolith is a must-do when visiting the region - the views from the top are absolutely spectacular!
Mount Coolum is best tackled in summer in the morning or late afternoon because of the heat. Best to wear insect repellent or take with you as sometime the mozzies are bad. Great views worth the effort.
Nothing is better than the view from the top of Mount Coolum on a clear day. The 208 metre mountain makes for a challenging trek, best done early morning or late afternoon. The average person can complete the climb in just over half and hour, while the fitter climbers race to the top like it's…
