Head downtown and walk around this historic fort. The outer grounds are open 24/7 and it is fun to walk around anytime of the day!
The old Spanish fort on the downtown bay front. Good the check out at least once. Cannons , carvings on wall made by homesick 17th century Spanish sailors. And bar none the best place in town to hole up during a zombie apocalypse .
A national park. Even if you don't care to venture inside, take a walk around the grounds. We often sit on the sea wall or bring a blanket and have a picnic on the green

The Museum is low key and very informative. There is a little place to get Lemonade and adult beverages. ”
