Uptown is home to the universities Tulane and Loyola, as well as Audubon Zoo. Take the streetcar down St. Charles and all the way to the French Quarter!
Beautiful architecture and history. Take a street care down St. Charles Avenue.
Uptown has many sites to offer, including the beautiful Audubon Park, Saint Charles Streetcar line, along with countless gorgeous historical homes.
Everyone agrees. Uptown’s got the looks in the family, bless its heart. Those handsome neighborhoods, like the St. Charles Avenue streetcar, trundle upriver, unfolding as a series of distinctive names: Oretha Castle Haley, The Garden District, Irish Channel, Riverside, the Black Pearl, Carrollton…
Quiet family area with lots of dog walkers and friendly neighbors. Lots of restaurants, cafes, bars and shopping on Freret, St Charles and Magazine Street. 8 blocks down to Marengo St and St Charles to ride the trolley through the Garden District to the French Quarter.
“The 'CBD' is an easy 10-15 minute walk or about 5 minutes bike/drive/streetcar. Here you will find the famous World War 2 museum, the Port of New Orleans, the Convention Center, and Harrah's Casino along with endless bars, restaurants, cafes, galleries, etc..”
“The Marigny is THE place to go in New Orleans for live music. It's not unusual to see a Grammy-winning local artist for a $10-cover at a local pub on Frenchman Street. My two personal favorites are D.B.A. and Snug Harbor, but Frenchman Street (located right behind the French Quarter) is full of great spots to enjoy the live music that New Olreans is so famous for. ”
“Haven is in MidCity and within easy reach of so many NOLA landmarks: French Quarter Mardi Gras Parades Jazz Fest Voodoo Fest City Park Super Dome & Saints Games Garden District Mississippi River ”
“Known for its colorful street murals, the Bywater neighborhood has a bohemian vibe, with plenty of outdoor cafes, boisterous dive bars and hip restaurants. Quirky boutiques selling handmade goods dot the area, while buzzy St. Roch Market offers southern gourmet specialities in a stylishly updated Victorian food hall. Trails, picnic spots and sweeping city views are the draw at riverside Crescent Park.”
