Lady Bird Lake
A must-do, this famous lake is home to a wide variety of outdoors activities. Pro tip: rent a kayak, paddle board, canoe or boat around sunset time to watch 1.5+ Million bats go out from under the South Congress bridge! You may also make a reservation at a bat sightseeing boat which includes a guided tour.
This area is home to a scenic hike and bike trail as well as water activities such as stand-up paddleboarding and canoeing.
You can go Kayaking or Paddleboarding on the lake and there is a running trail all the way around it that is awesome! I like the 4 mile loop.
Best way to see the heart of the city. Stroll, power walk, or run your way around the 10mile loop
“The pink-granite building is the centerpiece of downtown Austin, perched on a hill at 12th Street and Congress Avenue. Free guided tours are held daily, starting in the South Foyer, but brochures are also available on the first floor for self-guided tours. The Texas Legislature meets every two years, so you’ll have to check the schedule if you want to see an actual session in progress.”
Outdoor Event Space
“Zilker Park is where ACL happens, where a great Zilker Christmas Light Show is, where the Stevie Ray Vaughn bronze is. Close enough to Casa Willow and Holly Neighborhood. Google what is happening at Zilker when you come.”
“This natural, spring-fed pool is open yea-round and is an iconic Austin spot. There's a $9 entrance fee for non-residents, though check the website for open swim times. ”
“Located in central Austin, this is a great place to take a little hike and get a great view! You will see Lake Austin and the Hill Country!”
“This attraction will help you check the required museum off your to-do list. It's also close to Univ of Texas (across the street) which is excellent for people watching.”
