If you're looking for that "taste of New Orleans" look no further than Gabrielle Restaurant. This institution took a 10 year break after Hurricane Katrina before reopening nearby on Orleans Avenue. Their gumbo is consistently rated one of the best in the city. While it is a little more upscale, they offer a great value for the quality of food. A neighborhood gem.

So excited to include this amazing restaurant that has finally reopened after 12 years! I haven't eaten there yet, but I am sure it is going to be every bit as good as the old one and maybe better.
