A boardwalk across rare lowland raised mires with ancient peat workings. Bog myrtle and sundews grow by the path where lizards snooze soaking up the sun before darting off as you approach as swathes of cotton grass wave in the breeze Curlews and skylarks breed on the moss, cuckoos are heard and swallows swoop and dive over watery mires
