The painter and muralist Carles Arola has several works in Tarragona. The most popular and photographed, now converted into one of the most popular images of the old city, is the façade that leads to Plaça dels Sedassos, the "trompe-l'oeil" type. The mural mimics a typical nineteenth-century facade, with traditional characters and open balconies, full of flowers. It was painted in 1995.
