It’s in trendy Hackney, heated, and open all year until 9 pm—no wonder this 50m pool wonder is so popular. Queues can stretch round the block in summer. The pool itself is a glory in any season, but for me it has a special magic on floodlit winter nights, when steam rises off the water into the darkness. The pool is an outdoor swimming success story. It was saved from demolition by a dedicated 18-year campaign and reopened in 2006. There’s a café, with more reasonable prices than many others in the area, and a large sunbathing area too.

If you feel sporty in winter or you are too hot in summer, in the park is the London Fields Lido, a heated outdoor swimming pool for winter and cooled for summer for only the cost of 5 pounds you can swim in the heart of East London.

One of London's best heated Lidos for those that like a swim. It's a 50m pool just 5 minutes walk. It's located inside the park.

The perfect place to cool of on a hot summer day in the city, the London Fields Lido is an Olympic-sized pool that’s open all year round. Facilities include a cafe, a large sunbathing deck, and you can even book swimming lessons if you want to work on your backstroke.
