This very old church is located where centuries ago the river Arno flowed into the sea. A legend says that Saint Peter reached this site coming to Italy from Palestine but what it is absolutely true that in the IV century here there was already a christian building (you can see pieces of it inside this church that was built from the IX century). You can reach this place also by bike with the Bike Route del Trammino.

A 10' in auto è possibile visitare la basilica di S. Piero a Grado, uno dei pochi esempi di romanico pisano con doppia abside e privo di facciata.
