These spectacular cliffs giving wonderful views of Edinburgh are a result of a geological fault. Modern geology started here as James Hutton observed the rock layers. A plaque at the site notes this.
Wonderful hike, gorgeous views, and if you‘re in the Glen (scottish for valley) inbetween Arthurs Seat and the crags, you won‘t see any houses at all. Feel like you‘re in the Highlands while being surrounded by the city!
