People will tell you that Tartine is the best bakery in the Bay Area, but we beg to differ. The spot at the base of the Claremont Hotel is world-class. There are no seats, just a bakery counter with insanely well-made pastries. They also do pizza and baguette sandwiches at lunch.

Excellent French patisserie with prepared sandwiches for lunch as well. Arrive early and ready to stand in line.
