Great reserve just 30 minutes drive away and accessed by car (despite being an island!). Beautiful safe beach with large grass reserve behind with gas and wood bbq's available. Wooded areas with trees to climb and adventures to be had.There are also bike tracks and at the north end of the island you can catch a ferry over to Mapua for an ice-cream, beer or lunch too.

Wood and gas BBQs provided at the beach. Great views. Fun place for a picnic, BBQ and day at the beach

Long beach on peninsula 15mins drive from Nelson, only accessible during the day. Park-like setting with lots of space to picnic or even bbq (bbqs are present). Great views of Nelson. Bring your bike if you have one and take the ferry from Rabbit Island to Mapua for lunch!
