At the Visitor Parking Lot of St. John's College is the trailhead for Atalaya. This trail starts out relatively flat and gets quite steep in places. It climbs up through the forest and you get amazing views of Santa Fe from several spots on the trail.

Sun Mountain hiking trail is located behind St. John's college campus. Also, there is a great park and tennis courts on their campus. During the summer months they offer Music in the Park for locals and tourists to enjoy. Walking distance from Casita Escondida!

Drive to the far end of the parking lot, and you'll find a beautiful trail, a bit more challenging than Dale Ball.
