Jam Thewee (Cammadevi) was the first ruler queen of Mon Kingdom of Hariphunjaya. She was mentioned in a Chinese envoy, Chow Ta Kuan's journal to Suvarnabhumi region (Indochina) in Chinese Tang Dynasty period. Cammadevi was said to be a Mon princess from Lavo (present day Lopburi), disciple of the legendary ethnic Lua (Lawa) hermit Sudeva Rishi of Mt.Suthep (Chiang Mai) and Sukathanta Rishi of Mt. Samorkon (Lopburi). Many local myths mention her in their tales of the queen who brought Buddhism and civilisation into the region by which she had to bravely battle many obstacles including the aboriginal Lua King, Lord Vilanka. She successfully defeated the lord and made a truce with the locals which made her kingdom lasted for the next 600 years.
