Awesome and beautiful island to walk around during the day. See historic Waterford and the locks where the Hudson River, Mohawk River, Champlain Canal, and Erie Canal all converge. Come here to run around the loop trail or walk and see the deer.

Peebles Island StatePark is a 190-acres located at the confluence of the Mohawk & Hudson rivers in NYS. It offers spectacular river & rapids views for walkers & joggers who take advantage of the miles of paths through the gently rolling & wooded landscape. Picnickers & fishermen come to relax & winter visitors use the facilities to hike & snow shoe

This is a state park that has deer, bald eagles and is AN ISLAND which has like 3 waterfalls! What?!?! Trails are marked and there are BBQ pits there, you can rent a pavilion for a huge bbq and party. It's very nice to bring your dog for a walk or kids and get out for some scenery and exercise.

Short hike through the woods to see the Cohoes Falls. Lots of deer. Go after a good rain to be most impressed.
