Great day trip of tubing. Local business to rent from. After floating the river you have several options for dining on main street in Scottsville. Tavern on the James is a must for your dining and beverage pleasures. There is also a small farmers market on Saturday mornings. Check on line to confirm hours of operation.

If you would like to spend a day on the river, Scottsville is only one hour away. Options vary from a lazy day on the river in a tube to paddling a canoe, kayak, or raft from dawn 'til dusk. I used this company last year for a three-day canoe trip and was very happy with them. Smallmouth bass fishing is decent on this part of the Upper James.
