Nature reserve/park with lots of walks from easy strolls up the gentle slopes, to a little bit tougher. Pretty park setting for picnics, if you don't feel like exerting yourself.

This is a beautiful area to explore if you are visiting in Wellington. Stunning little spot close to the main road. Lots of small walks up the hills from here. I highly recommend the waterfall track, takes about 10 minutes to get to the very picturesque cascade waterfall.

... its just a lovely quiet bushy corner, and there are glow worm caves! Take a picnic blanket, great for kids

Percy Scenic Reserve is a beautifully unique park just on the edge of Lower Hutt City. With a mix of garden area, easy trails, a small cave and a waterfall it’s a perfect spot for youngsters to have their first forest or trail experience amongst some rare native plants.

Percy's Scenic Reserve is at the bottom of Maungaraki hill and has tracks connecting to Belmont Regional Park and Korokoro.
