Il mezzo più comodo per raggiungere sia Pompei che Ercolano è la linea del treno Circumvesuviana nella tratta Sorrento - Napoli. Dalle stazioni è facile raggiungere a piedi gli scavi e da qui partono anche gli autobus che portano sulla cima del Vesuvio.
