Right next to Gyeongbokgung Palace, where the Joseon dynasty kings lived, there’s a handful of small galleries. Hakgojae is one I always visit. I love the traditional Korean Hanok exterior and the fact that it always shows artists who are renowned in their field, whether that’s calligraphy, sculpture, or multimedia. Unlike most galleries and museums in Seoul, Hakgojae forbids photography, even without the flash.
