This Takoma Park restaurant, bar, and small bookstore is one of the several branches of a favorite Washington-area chain. Terrific for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with outdoor seating. Great happy hour specials.

Celiac disease is a bummer for a foodie, but Busboys and Poets makes you feel normal and they always take great care of you. We are completely in love with their roasted Brussels sprouts. Trust us. Get them even if you hate Brussels sprouts. They’re better than the sweet potato fries and that’s saying something.

Busboys and Poets is a local chain with a social change agenda and a bookstore in each restaurant. They regularly hold poetry readings and other events. The food is American with a range of sandwiches, salads, and other options.
