The Nieuwe Kerk is no longer used for church services but is used as an exhibition space. The church is in use by the Dutch royal family for investitures, most recently that of King Willem-Alexander.

The structure dates from 1408, although interior is plan, the magnificent oak chancel, the bronze choir screen and the massive gilded organ justify a look.
