Take a trip on the ferry crossing the famous river Tyne. Once over on the north shore take a walk to the old fish quay 10 minutes away and treat yourselves to fish and chips.

take a trip over to North shields, walk along the coast to tynemouth prioy. to reach the ferry landing walk up ocean road , cross market square and keep walking straight until you reach the landing
